PTF Womens Polo Tournament at International Polo Club
Vero Ladies Go to PTF Women's Tournament At International Polo Club
On fields normally played on by 10 goalers, the Vero Ladies played at IPC on Monday,March 17th in a fundraiser for the Polo Training Foundation. Team "Alex Photo" Kelly Rigsby , only months after her new baby Cas came into the world was back in the saddle and hitting the ball again, this time on Sharon Baumgardt's Taquita.Playing number 3 on the team was Melissa Sommers on Margarita. First timers Kristin Ashcroft and Moriah Bryant played position 1 & 2 respetively. Each now more hooked by the sport than they were before they stepped on the field. On team "Tackeria" Merrily "I only play trot polo" Quincoces rode her new polo pony "Patisa" down the field at the slowest most collected canter that I have ever seen. She did however convert a penalty two and team Tackeria did win the game. I was very proud of my girls as several calls were made and they all acted like they knew how to line up for the penalty shots. Sylvia Firestone, a long time friend and highgoal women player, commented on how polite my ladies were and how well they knew their rules. This is the supreme compliment to me! Julia Ancey and Lisa Kahle played in a fast paced 4 chukker game against a really underated Canadian team and I played with and against alot of old friends from my days in Wellington. We couldn't have done it with out the help of our ground crew Sharon Baumgardt and Lauren Crowe. Fun was had by all!
